Life Altering (Improving) News
This post is a little bit different. But this entire season has been a little different, right? I don’t know about you, but I’ve been looking for ways to get through it with my heart and mind in the best possible place.
With that goal in mind, I thought I’d share two things* I’ve found recently that have helped me so much. Maybe they’ll help you too!
I’m a thinker, and I like to have lots of space and time to think deeply about things. But two things I don’t want to think about: 1) exercise and 2) what to cook for dinner! But we all know these are things that need to be thought about—and often! People in my house like to eat, who knew? (Too often if you ask me)
First, I heard about both of these things on the Rhythms for Life Podcast. Check it out if you’re looking for ways to live well during this season and beyond. And if you’ve read this far, I’m guessing that’s you! Way to go!
Now you’re probably thinking, Get to it lady! What are these life-altering things you’ve discovered?
The first one is Prep Dish.
I do not like cooking. And the only thing I dislike more than cooking is having to plan what I’m going to cook. Ugh! Double ugh actually.
Enter Prep Dish with a singing choir of angels. This site gives you a weekly menu (gluten free, paleo and keto options are all available) of healthy meals, a printable shopping list and then you prep it all at once and your food is ready to go for the week!! Where have you been all my life? This is nothing short of revolutionary, that’s what I say.
Here’s been my biggest issue with other meal planning services. They were full of things that my family would never eat. Not. Helpful. But the Prep Dish meal plans are full of delicious, nutritious stuff my family will actually eat.
They tell you exactly what to do, step-by-step, and you’re set for the week. Boss me Prep Dish! Tell me what to do! Don’t make me waste another brain cell on dinner planning ever again!
The next thing that has brought me so much peace and forward momentum to make better choices for my body and health is The Balanced Life Pilates.
I do not like to sweat. And I don’t generally work up a huge sweat in a pilates session, but I’ve found that my body (and my mind) responds so well to it. Which is a huge win for me right now.
Each day I open up my handy app and there’s a workout (anywhere between 10-30 minutes long) already selected for me. I just roll out my mat, push play and feel good all day long. And I sleep better too!
Besides the obvious physical benefits, I love The Balanced Life community. It’s all about process, and choosing grace over guilt. Something we could all probably use a bit more of these days.
In case you haven’t noticed, I love both of these things because they’ve allowed me to take something off of my mental plate. If you could use a little relief in that area too, check them out. They both have free ways to check them out and give them a try. I bet you’ll love them just as much as I do! Let me know how it goes! I’d love to hear your stories!
Here’s to you thriving in every season—even difficult ones!
