Friend, I’m so excited you’re here! Life is such a winding journey, isn’t it?

Mine has been windier than most. But God has been writing a beautiful story through it all.

After meeting and marrying my husband, Jonathan, in college (I could tell you some stories about our whirlwind romance that would have you in stitches) we proceeded to have two great kids (Jacob and Juliana), serve as staff pastors, then missionaries to India, then college campuses in Iowa and now we’re church planters in Waverly, Iowa. (If you’re in the Cedar Valley and looking for a church home, check us out!) We like to joke that the only ministry we haven’t done yet is senior adults…but I guess we still have time!

I’m a lover of God and beauty. But I’ve certainly faced seasons where life wasn’t so lovely, you can read about it in my book Holy Doubt. As a writer, I like to write about the things no one is talking about in church; things like doubt, and finding it hard to pray.

My newest adventure is A Beautiful Word Co. I’m going to be honest, I haven’t always loved God’s word like I do now. But these days I’m finding it to be one of the greatest sources of beauty and joy in my life! Read on to find out a little more about the company and then pop over to the shop and find something to bring a little encouragement and beauty to your walk with God! I pray it helps you fall more in love with God’s beautiful word.

A Beautiful Word Co. started from a newfound love of watercolor and a deep love for the life-changing power of God’s word. I believe the Bible is powerful, and if you truly apply it to your life, totally transformational.

But how can we apply it to our lives? Maybe you don’t know a lot of scripture, or maybe you read it and then forget about it in your day-to-day life. Well, not surprisingly, the Bible has a solution for that!

Meditating on scripture.

But wouldn’t you love to have something pretty to meditate on? Me too! That’s where the idea for A Beautiful Word Co. was born! It was created with the purpose of connecting you with the beauty of God’s word, in a beautiful way, so you can live a beautiful life.

So how does it work? I’m so glad you asked.

Someone once said they don’t want to be educated beyond their level of obedience when it comes to the word of God. Hear me, people, the answer if not to be less educated! LOL! The answer is to increase our level of obedience.

But how do we do this? By constantly keeping God’s word top of mind. And making it pretty sure doesn’t hurt!
